At Spice Guys, banana leaf dining is more than a meal. It’s a cultural thread that ties generations together, representing . A symbol of cultural continuity, especially within the South Indian Diaspora.
Long before the banana leaf was laid out, spices had been shaping stories and culture for over 5000 years. Originating in the ancient lands of South Asia, spices like turmeric, black, pepper, cardamom, and cumin were prized not only for their vibrant flavours but for their healing properties. These spices travelled along ancient trade routes, weaving a tapestry of culture, commerce, and culinary innovation.
Every turmeric- stained leaf, every scoop of sambar and rasam, and every hand- washed meal is a quiet act of commemorating where we came from while adapting to where we are. It’s paying homage on a plate

Tried their Banana Leaf Rice with veggie soy chicken and it was delicious – the curries were rich and flavorful, and the variety of sides made the meal really satisfying. My friend had the Chicken Varuval, which was aromatic, spicy, and perfectly cooked. The ambience was warm and inviting, with a nice modern twist to traditional vibes. Service was excellent, especially from Anas, who was attentive, friendly, and made us feel very welcome. Definitely a great spot for authentic banana leaf dining in the city – will be coming back again! mira zailan2025-08-29Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. good food! good service by Anas . good lambshank Steph2025-08-28Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Tried the banana leaf set with 4 curry choices - crab, fish, mutton or chicken. You can even have a combination of all. That was the first time that I've tried the crab curry, a bit spicy for me but it's good. Love the side dishes that came with it as I never tried mango chutney and the sweet dessert thingy. Very refreshing and nice. Got the mutton chukka and fried tenggiri as well. The masala tea was not bad too. Service is slow despite low number of customers. Waiters were busy talking and supervising each other. Had to wait for some time for them to top up my rice and curry. Overated place. hasan mahmud2025-08-26Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Had this unlimited plate, great experience, thank you Anas !!!
